StripAmp is a tiny Control Strip Module (CSM) what allows you to control
MacAmp version 1.0b4 or later via AppleEvents. You don't
have to switch to MacAmp to skip song or load your favorite playlist, all of these
things you can do from the control strip.
|
1. Unstuff binhexed StripAmp archive (or your browser has done it already.)
2. Place StripAmp module into the Control Strip Modules folder inside
the System Folder of your startup disk.
3. Be sure you have Control Strip control panel installed.
4. Restart your Macintosh.
|
Look at the control strip and you will see StripAmp module:

It's inactive because you don't have MacAmp running.
Click the Power button or launch MacAmp as you usually do

and StripAmp module will activate:
Now you can click small buttons to control MacAmp.
|
4. Working with playlists
|
Put aliases of your favorite playlists into the Playlists folder
inside the StripAmp Preferences folder (System Folder->Preferences.) You can
easily open Playlists folder window with StripAmp popup menu, just click on the module
with control key held down or click and hold mouse button down for a while and select
'Playlists...' menu item:

|
WARNING! Don't use symbols such as '<', '(', '^', '!', '/' and especially ';' in the playlist filenames
because they are MacOS Toolbox Menu Manager special metacharacters. I'll try to avoid these
limitations in the future versions of StripAmp.
|
StripAmp version 0.0d3, new features:
- Added support for playlists
- PowerPC native (I don't support 68K Macs anymore ;o)
